I once knocked a glass of red wine into a Dell laptop the screen of which went immediately blank. I opened it right out, inverted it, set it on a couple of tea towels and put it in the airing cupboard. Four days later, I switched the laptop on and it worked a treat.
A few months later, I accidentally a whole glass of bacardi and coke into the same laptop. Tried the tea towel and airing cupboard trick but to no avail. I did make a claim through the house insurance which they honoured... got a brand new, upgraded laptop out of it :-)

Bacardi and coke... kills 99% of laptops dead.
I was wondering if anyone else had any odd things that had happened to
their computers, or other such stuff - My friend electrocutes himself
mildly every time he presses the shift key on his laptop (or so he says).
