I'm not sure that Microsoft is to blame for the poor standard of literacy
of many of those leaving our education system. I do agree that the GCSEs
(and many other similar exams) have become devalued, almost to the point
of being valueless. Certainly I pay scant regard to the qualifications
potential employees have, prefering to judge them by their actual ability.
The people I feel sorry for are those who have not had the value and
importance of good English emphasised during their education.
