Ho yuss. There are some right jobsworths around...

Some friends of mine run a PA hire business. They rent out audio
equipment. They run PA systems for live bands (i.e. the rights holders).
The PRS seem to think that, because they own equipment from which music
issues, they are fair game to be threatened with prosecution for not
having a Public Performace LIcence. Bah.

I'm all for the protection of musicians' rights (I am technically a
professional musician now[1]) - but I have real worries about how society
is heading towards a "guilty until proven innocent" approach to pretty
much everything...
