• DeanEarley “helped” JohnEayrs upgrade to OpenOffice 2.0

• DeanEarley started an upgrade to Mandriva 2006 for JamesGrant

• TonyWhitmore helped LauraCowen recover her bootloader which involved going via LILO under Knoppix to get Ubuntu booting to restore GRUB to it’s dual-boot glory. Phew!

• TonyWhitmore helped fix IanBrazier‘s Wifi-Radar installation.

• AlanPope helped LauraCowen half upgrade to Breezy and then left when it broke. TomBragg picked up the pieces heroically.

• IanBrazier helped configure email for JamesGrant.

• DeanEarley helped IanBrazier set up a PHP gallery on his website.

• MarkJohnson helped LisiReisz partition her hard drive for a Debian Sarge installation

• AdamTrickett introduced fellow OPALS member EdBeckmann to the group.

• EdBeckmann got his Win 2K/Debian system dual booting with GRUB, then urgraded Debian Sarge to Ubuntu Breezy.

• AdamTrickett and StephenDavies exchanged opinions about external USB hard drive enclosures.

• LisiReisz showed JohnEayrs why she likes KMail.

• NeilFerguson picked up his new Thinkpad R52 and blew away the preinstalled Windows partition to be replaced by Ubuntu

• JohnLewis talked to all and sundry, found a copy of Partition Magic too late to prevent Neil’s windows partiton being removed un-intentionally, tried a Live CD version of Ubunto and realised (again) that he hates the gnome interface and still can’t see why anyone would prefer U to Real Debian
