+1 to that! these devices are pretty good for
calls/email/sms/social/calendar etc etc but as a serious work tool no
not really :) a typical day see's me with ~25 chrome tabs open, eclipse,
gdb, geany, a fair number of ssh sessions here and there and remmina
too.. and maybe libreoffice as well! yes I have tried ssh on android,
yes it *can* get you out of tight situation but it is far from practical
as are many things on the small screen, which takes me to my next
point.. needing a bigger screen/keyboard for your *mobile* device would
mean it was constantly being connected/disconnected from these items (as
it is mobile after all!), my experience is that ports on mobile devices
do not fare well from such constant wear and tear, add to that the
monitor/keyboard side of the connection is certainly not designed for
such wear and tear (yes ok you could do bluetooth keyboard!), so then
you need some middle-man docking device and that needs to be present
wherever you wish to plug-in. add to that there is probably much data on
my desktop workstation that I would (should/must) not carry around
everywhere with me either - I don't think I'm convinced yet :)
