John, the risks of writing this software are very hard to calculate. It looks
as if popularity in British 'disaster recovery' has taken a bit of a nosedive
- did you read and understand the blog post? I may be wrong. But still,
writing this software is risky.

If I can't calculate the risks of writing the software and testing it how can
I calculate what the profits will be? - these factors are part of the reason
that most good backup software is very very expensive and closed source.

If the community want good open source backup software then the return will
have to incorporate a measure of uncertainty. Or the IP will have to be sold
to a company that can afford the risk.

Please, without employing some of the best actuaries to help with a business
proposal, how can a classic business proposal be written?

I'm not being paid for this work, it is affecting my ability to find a new
contract to pay the mortgage. I am now selling personal assets to sustain
this stage.
