docs say you can run the various commands under the lvm command
but the commands I wanted to use do not accept the --ignroelockingfailure
option :-(

Tonight I am doing a complete drive copy to a new drive, pvextending the /dev/sda2 PV
on the new bigger drive so that it is bigger than the LV extents then trying a boot
and poss a "linux rescue" boot to see how far I get...
