I'm happy with my Nokia N900. The keyboard is small, but easy to
use. It runs Linux (Maemo -- a Debian variant). I believe that it can
do tethering, but I've not managed to configure my Mac laptop (don't
ask) to work with it yet. I haven't tried very hard, though. I got
mine direct from Nokia, unlocked.
