Hi,

Have you tried the following on benden?

Stop ssh (/etc/init.d/ssh stop) (I think)
Open another terminal and tail -f /var/log/messages
Restart ssh (/etc/init.d/ssh start)
Look in the tail terminal for sshd moaning about anything broken. If you don't see anything try sshing in from the other machine and see if any complaints appear then.

Permissions on benden? .ssh directory and known_hosts only readable by
the user?
