Hi all,
I have been thinking, over the course of the past few months, about
PGP keysigning and the possibility of holding a session at one of the
Surrey LUG
meets. I am not suggesting this one (although if anyone feels it's
possible at such short notice?) as it is only four days away, but
maybe in the
future.
At present, I am not sure how many people in Surrey (or indeed
Hampshire[1 LUG have PGP keys that they use/would want signed, but I
think it is a
good exercise. More information on the matter can be found at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Key_signing_party. Obviously normal
keysigning etiquette
would be required (i.e key ID and fingerprint written down, PGP key
uploaded on to the keyservers (pgp.mit.edu for example) and
presentation of photo
ID (passport/driving license etc.) will be most definitely required so
people can prove they are in fact who they say they are!

and of course if anyone would like to help me lead a session then feel

[1] As far as I know, Hampshire LUG have already done this at one of
their past meetings and it was very successful -- I was hoping it
could be
even more successful when Surrey (and possibly Hampshire as well at
one of the joint meetings) does it -- COME ON SURREY, BEAT HAMPSHIRE!
