Hi,

I spotted this today on the DA.org web site: HOWTO prep for migration off of
SHA-1 in OpenPGP.

http://www.debian-administration.org/users/dkg/weblog/48

For some time there has been doubt in the strength of some of the hash
algorithms used and apparently the commonly used SHA1 is coming to the end of
it's life.

Basicall this means if you use GPG, now is the time to upgrade and there is a
how-to and some comments on the DA.org web site.

Perhaps at one of our next meetings GPG/PGP users can do a key signing. If you
don't know how GPG works, Hugo has some nice talks on the LUG wiki on how it
all works.

If you don't upgrade yourself, it's food for thought.
