Eclipse does this automatically. It'll also spellcheck text within
strings etc. If you tell it to, it will flag up spelling errors as
a particular type of warning in the file.

Of course if you don't use Java, this may not be a valid option. I
don't even know if the Eclipse spell checker could be called from
the command line rather than having to use the full IDE.
