OK, a quick question on this since if it is due out tomorrow I'll hold
off on doing an install and go straight in on Feisty - although the
question doesn't relate to this! I'm emailing while it is in my mind
though since I'm on a Windows box atm and it is all but a brand new
install at the moment (XP Pro + updates, F-Secure AV, Gaim and Putty)
and even with AV installed (of any variety) I'll not be using IE to go
anywhere on the internet (except one of my online banking accounts which
requires it for one feature, and then only if I need to use that feature
on that login).
Anyhoo...
1. I'm assuming Feisty is an LTS release
2. From what you say the upgrade from 6.06 (Dapper) to 7.04 (Feisty) is
not officially supported
3. This means there is no direct upgrade path between LTS releases
If my assumptions and logic are sounds (and they may well not be given
the way my brain is(n't) working at the moment) then to upgrade between
LTS releases you have to do multiple version upgrades in quick
succession when the next LTS release comes out - surely it would make
sense to have an LTS to LTS upgrade path?
