OK, that one is for the wrong version of Debian. You have 3.1, not
2.1. However, having just tried it, it seems that the package for
Debian 3.1 of the later version of the software is corrupt, and can't
be installed.
Looks like you'll have to use one of the AIM clients packaged in
Debian. Use "apt-cache search AIM" on the command line, or the search
function in synaptic, to find one (or read Alan's mail, where he makes
suggestions of alternatives).
