Thanks for the idea but I had no luck. Alsamixer was at the same settings
as KMix and there were no extra options on the switches tab. I have 2 drop
down selection boxes to select the input source. The options are "Mic" and
"Front Mic" (This is the mic socket on the front I presume). Both are
currently set to "Mic" but I think I've tried changing them and I don't
think it made any difference.
