Hi,

Like Vince, I would suggest the cables have intermittent faults on them.
Hopefully the switches have a command line or web interface. When the
problem occurs, try to look at the speed of link that the switches
think they are using.
My guess is that one of them has dropped from 1000 Mbps to 100 Mbps.
Once you find out which cable link has dropped to 100 Mbps, you will
know which cable to replace.
