I presume you mean you are trying to install VirtualBox as a guest,
virtual OS inside an already running instance of Ubuntu 10.10 which has
2GB of (hardware) RAM.

If this is the case, you should be able to install it using the Package
manager (synaptic I think), just search for Virtualbox and select the
packages virtualbox-ose and virtualbox-ose-qt.

The rest is point and click.
