You are running a VNC server which is connected to an X-Server with no window
manager running. There is an init script which is run on startup by VNC, which
should include an X program or window manager at the end. From memory, it is
in ~/.vnc/*init.However, I may be wrong about the exact location. Some nice
person who has VNC set up at home (I have it at work for testing, but usually
use XDMCP) may be able to tell you what it should contain.
