If you can open the document in OOo, could you export as a .pdf, then open
the .pdf in acroread and tell it to fit or shrink (both are offered, and you
could suck it and see to see which is better) to printable area? You might
need to enlarge the page size in OOo, so that it all fits on one page, even
tho' a big one - or does that count as altering the source document?

In what way is the source document locked?
