Interestingly? I obtained (today) an ASIX AX88772 device from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/USB-Ethernet-Network-RJ45-Adapter/dp/B002883YXM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1250067652&sr=1-4#moreAboutThisProduct

Which also works impressively well, so much so I've submitted a "Works
with Linux" review. "Works perfectly with Linux (Ubuntu 9.04) on three
architectures. Just plug it in and it works. No faffing around finding
drivers, no forced reboots, just works."
