That's a shame.

Try getting to grub and press escape. Press 'e' to edit the uppermost
kernel line, then on the next screen go down one line and press 'e' to
edit again. Move to the end of the line and remove 'splash' and
'quiet' from the line.

This will boot with the kernel messages turned on, and will enable you
to see how far it gets before it gets stuck.

Try also unplugging any USB devices like mass storage devices,
scanners, printer etc.
