Joking aside...
Which version of Ubuntu do you use?
You might want to try and remove the xorg.conf altogether as most modern
distros don't use it anymore.
Does the Ubuntu Live CD work? Does any other live CD work?
If so, then you might be able to copy a working x.org across.
