[Hampshire] Gentoo: How does the firewall script work?

Hi All.

I'm having trouble with Gentoo - it's not loading my firewall config
correctly at boot time.

I ran /etc/init.d/iptables save to stash my config away and rebooted - the
firewall is started, but the rules are wrong.

Performing /etc/init.d/iptables restart gets it set up correctly.

Anyone know what's going wrong?
