I run kmail (1.9.7) on my pc that runs 24\7, I have found that kmail does
sometimes sits on e-mails and sometime closing kmail via the "File" menu and
then restarting after a few second will bring an influx of e-mails. As for
gmail, I have my account set to pop which kmail handles and I have had
e-mails coming through OK.
