I currently run a Chyang Fun mini ITX, this machine runs 24/7 with a P4
2.4ghz, 1gb memory, 3.5" 120GB harddisk, ATI Sapphire video card and a Sony
DVD RW.
I have had three minor problems with mine to date (had it about 3 years) the
case fan is a cylindrical design which every now and again will cease up,
this is simply a case of dismantle the box remove the the fan, clean and
lubricate the bush in the fan and reassemble. Secondly, due to space the
processor heat sink is non standard and has a 60,mm square fan mounted on the
side of the heat sink to pull air through the heat sink. This heat fan failed
once and I found that is it particularly thin fan (thinner than normal 60mmm
fans) and trying to get a replament fan from the local shop was impossible,
in the end I found one on an old machine I had. Finally with the ATI card I
have to run the box with out the side panels on as it would generate to much
heat with the side panels on, although I guess your won't have this problem
running a headless server
The box is currently running Mepis 7 (Debian Etch) and is my main workhorse,
for Internet browsing, letters writing, photos, web server.
