Some people use mnemonics them and some don't. The mental keys (mnemonics)
lead into the technology. The keys allow you to try out then if it works
and you like it, then pad it out with the underlying technology. "just
does" (tm) is the side-effect:)

A single command like ]#ps is a technology - granted closely related to
many others. Another technology ]#for i in $(seq 1 100);do ls;sleep
10;done; (a mini refreshing directory viewer).

"Shortcuts into Linux" could have been another Subject line.
