Might I suggest that you do not use an IDE when learning a new language?
I've always found this helpful for learning the API and language features,
instead of relying on the IDE to auto-complete function calls and
variable-type declarations (in fact, even though I use Eclipse for dev. at
work, I rarely use these features).
