[Hampshire] all iI want to do is install hotplug.

Hello again.

At some point after preventing server suicide, hotplug, which had
solved my mouse detection problems, got removed. Turned on my machine
today and the usb optical mouse wont work. went to install hotplug
again, which it will happily do but only after removing every kde
component there is.

All I want to do is install hotplug!

how can i prevent another attempted suicide coz I know where this is
headed again?
