[Hampshire] Proxy.sh script.

Hello folks. I'm going to start dabbling with proxy servers for grins.
the script I plan to use I have lifted from the pages at:

http://www.aboutdebian.com/proxy.htm

it says the script is designed for 2.4 kernels. will it work for a 2.6
one please?
