From debian testing to Mepis 6.05, been running it on another PC for a few
weeks and everything seem to be ok. I am not running a server on this PC so
that helps.

I am a bit like you Phil, I will think about it for a while and then just go
for it, this time I though I would try and do it properly. I will probably do
it next weekend.
