Err - actually, quite standard.

I've had a static IP address on all 3 broadband ISPs I've been with - even
<spit>PlusNet</spit> [1]

[1] Technically, it wasn't truly static with MinusNet - it just didn't
change, and the DNS entries they gave me had fairly long TTLs...
