Good morning all :-)
I have one of my other boxen dual booting Linux/XP and have been doing oit via
the BIOS. I am now trying to get it to work via GRUB.
Here is what I believe to be the relevant part of menu.lst: (In case I am
wrong in choosing this bit, the whole of menu.lst is here (1). I have left
it as it was with the exception that I have added the Windows bit.)
title Libranet GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.11-ln.std
root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.11-ln.std root=/dev/hdb1 ro
initrd /boot/initrd.img
savedefault
boot
title Windows
root (hd1,0)
makeactive
chainloader +1
boot
I have also tried it without the "boot" at the end. Both gave the same
result, a screen saying:
root (hd1,0)
Filesystem type is fat, partition type 0xc
makeactive
chainloader +1
boot
(or without the last line if it was not in GRUB)
And it then hangs.
What have I done wrong? It is obviously seeing the correct drive because it
is correctly identifying the filesystem. (I chose fat32 when installing.)
TIA,
Lisi
